30th May
We finally left Cairns as the weather forecast wasnt very bright so we decided to head inland away from the coast and try and get clear of it.
We travelled the steep and winding road up to the Atherton table lands in rain and fog but finally made it to Mareeba without any problems. From there we turned left and headed South to Ravenshoe where we had lunch. We were going to stay there and look around the Railway museum but it was still raining.

We carried on to the Undara resort and camping ground to look at the famous Lava tubes.
We found the place and set up camp and checked on the next trip to the tubes and found it to be at 3.30pm which gave us time to get on it. We were not sure what the weather was going to do so decided not to wait untill the next day.

The trip was quite good though at $50.00 each a bit expensive. Two of the tubes had water in them so you couldnt walk through them.
The WiFi battery is gettin low so I will close now and add lots  more soon.
Cheers Dave and Helen
