20th Sept
Cossack was a Ghost town on the Bus trip schedule, so after the Rio Tinto segment we went there.
Cossack was a Pearling Port in the old days and was quite a large town for the times. Its on an Estuary and had a small port where the Pearling Luggers used to depart from.
Some of the buildings have been saved and done up but a lot in the Chinese and Japanese part of town have gone. Here is a selection of photos showing some of the buildings.
The Galbraith General store. This has been restored and looks great.
This is the Court house.
This is the Warehouse down by the Wharf.
An interesting place with a great History. We had lunch under the tree as it was still pretty hot out in the Sun.
Next a Quick look at Dampier and Red Dog.
Cheers Helen and David
