22nd Sept
After leaving Point Sampson we headed South and stopped at a Roadhouse to top up with Fuel and the Girl behind the counter said to watch out as there was an accident on the Highway just to the South. While standing talking to her an Ambulance and fire Engine went past. This is what we saw when we passed the scene.
You could just see the wheels sticking up out of the scrub
Then it all came into view.
The car seemed to have come off second best. The truck had crossed the white line and speared off into the scrub on the wrong side of the road. Which begs the question. "what if we hadnt stopped for fuel? Would we have been involved. Who knows!
They were administering to the driver on the side of the road as we passed but he looked ok .
Onward again until we stopped for the night at a free camp at the Yannarie River. It was very windy so we were pleased to stop. There was dust blowing everywhere but it eased off later on.
I found some nice Wild flowers in the dry river bed and had to photograph them.
The next day we headed for Exmouth turning right at Burkett road and approx 160km later arrived at the Caravan Park.
Tony and Chris arrived soon after and got the spot next door.
Next time more of Exmouth, whales and things.
See Ya
Dave and Helen
